Brickle Bars

1/2 c butter (no substitutes)
2 oz unsweetened chocolate
1 c sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 c flour
3/4 c brickle pieces
1/2 c miniature semisweet chocolate pieces

Cook and stir butter and unsweetened chocolate in a medium saucepan over low heat till melted. Remove from heat. Beat in sugar, eggs, and vanilla with a wooden spoon till combined. Do not overmix. Stir in flour. Spread the batter into a greased 8x8x2" baking pan. Sprinkle with almond brickle and chocolate pieces. Bake in a 350º oven for 30 minutes. Cool in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars. Makes 16.
