French Onion Soup
4 large onions |
Slice onions and cook in butter until golden brown. Add broth, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Serve in ovenproof soup bowls. Top each serving with a lightly toasted slice of French bread sprinkled with grated cheese. Just before serving, place bowls under broiler to partially melt cheese. Serve with more French bread or toasted rolls. Serves 4-6. |
