Holiday Meringue Cookies
2 egg whites |
Beat egg whites in small mixer bowl at high speed until foamy. Add cream of tartar and salt; beat to
form soft peaks. Add sugar, 1 Tbsp at a time, beating after each addition. Meringue should be stiff and shiny. Fold in vanilla, chocolate
chips, and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheets, leaving about 1 1/2" space between cookies. Sprinkle with candy.
Bake 40 minutes at 250º. Cool on wire racks. Store in airtight container. Makes 3 dozen. Source: Deanna Naivar |
