New Year's Eve Cookies (Partzelekya)

2 c Flour
1 pk Yeast
3/4 c Lukewarm milk
1 Egg
1 1/2 c Raisins
1/4 c Sugar
1 pinch Salt
Fat for deep frying

Soften yeast. Combine all ingredients. Cover and let rise 1 hour. Heat oil for deep-frying. Drop Tablespoons of the mixture into hot oil a few at a time. Fry until puffed and golden on both sides. Drain on paper towel. Sprinkle with powdered sugar when cool, or spread with cream cheese icing. Yummy! This is a New Year's Eve tradition in our family. The only time we make it!
